Zane Hubbard and the Ironbeard

Imaginative is the only way that Zane Hubbard can be described in addition to creative. Ever since he was young, Zane remembered picturing the world through lenses that only he could understand. Finding a creative outlet at this point seemed to be only second nature to him and that’s when he discovered the art of acting. Participating in a number of school plays as a child, it slowly took on a life of its own once he started to mature. As he entered highschool, Zane’s passion only grew from then on and he strived to find new ways to release his creative vision into the world. As a young adult, Zane’s life consisted of auditioning for roles as well as performing as an extra. However, it wasn’t until he was a little older that he discovered the magic that was in production.

Once he discovered the intricate language that was in production and film making, Zane was hooked. Going down every creative avenue he could, he realized that the possibilities were endless when it came to directing. A way to tell your story and execute your vision; it sounded like a win-win for Zane. By working hard and learning the tricks of the trade, Zane eventually opened his own production company in 2016. Under the name Ironbeard Films, Zane was able to raise the bar from what was previously considered a production company. Elevating the standards, Zane’s client soon became accustomed to a sense of professionalism as well as strong execution when the name Ironbeard Film was involved. Taking the industry by storm, Zane quickly and quietly made a name for himself in the field of directing. Fresh off of his hit series, The Chronicles of Jessica Wu, it was just a taste of the talents that came natural to Zane. Within three years of establishing his production company, The Chronicles of Jessica Wu competed for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Short-Form Comedy or Drama Series in 2019. While this gave Zane the recognition from the industry, it isn’t what ultimately drives him. Zane’s directorial style is shifting the way that the industry sees not only people of color, but people of all creeds as well. Centering The Chronicles of Jessica Wu around an autistic girl was a small but immensely powerful move on behalf of Zane. Not only did it bring awareness to a subject that isn’t discussed in frequency, but it offered the opportunity for people who struggle with autism to see themselves be portrayed accurately. Taking into consideration Zane’s own personal experience with autism in the shape of his daughter, he was able to translate that on screen and give it the proper platform that he knows it deserves. Without Zane’s vision, there might not have been a show like this for some time.

Expanding on Zane’s interest in entertainment is just the beginning of his journey. Zane successfully established his own charity in aid of those who struggled with autism. Including them in his production is just one of the many ways that Zane brings attention to the cause. By shining a light onto this topic, it speaks volumes about Zane’s directing approach. By using everything from his surroundings as a child to his experience as an adult, Zane has successfully made a career of spinning beautiful stories out of his own personal experiences. The examples in The Chronicles of Jessica Wu is just one of many when it comes down to the capabilities of Zane Hubbard.

While acting can be taught, directing is a whole other animal in itself. It requires an eye that most people don’t possess and others will never understand, which is why it makes Zane Hubabrd so unique. Having the insight is one thing, but to be able to successfully transition it into film is another thing and that is what the work Zane Hubbard does at Ironbeard Films does so well.

When it comes to juggling the world of entertainment, no one speaks the language of it better than Zane Hubbard. In regards to his growth, Ironbeard Films is well on it’s way to become the next Disney, maybe even surpassing it in the future.
