Meet Critically Acclaimed Physical Therapist, Priyanka Jariwala

Each year, about 17,900 new Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) cases are reported in the United States. In most of these cases, the patient loses sensory and mobility function. However, physical therapists like Priyanka Jariwala PT, MS are helping such people manage their symptoms.

Priyanka Jariwala has a background in orthopedics, sports-related injuries, human kinesiology, and musculoskeletal physical therapy. She assists individuals who are recovering from an illness or injury regain their prior level of function.

“What I do is simple: if you are down, I will get you back on your feet. When you get up, I will keep you up and running. People come to me with various issues and complexities, and I help them manage their condition,” she explains. “My work restores mobility, flexibility, strength, and range of motion,” she says.

Priyanka has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Pravara College, Loni, India. She also has a Master of Science degree with concentration in Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh. By way of professional certifications, she has a certification in Applied Functional Science from Gray Institute. She is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Priyanka works at Performance Rehabilitation, a physical therapy clinic based in Yonkers, New York. The clinic provides a wide range of therapeutic services to clients. With Priyanka’s help, Performance Rehabilitation is making a real impact and earning widespread recognition.

A former client of the clinic posted this review: “Staff is very polite and helpful. My therapist, Priyanka, and her assistant, Mel, are the best! They not only care about the injured body parts they are treating, but also your well-being in general. Some of the exercises are challenging, but the outcome is rewarding. I can attest to that. I highly recommend Performance Rehabilitation to everyone who needs therapy and is looking for great results.”

What’s more, the clinic was named the Best Physical Therapy Center in Yonkers for 2021 by Expertise.com.

“I am not slowing down anytime soon,” she reveals. “If people need a hand, I will be there to lend it. I was raised to believe good begets good. While I am not one for cliches, my instinct is to be the difference I want to see in the world.”

Priyanka’s colleagues have described her as motivated, client-focused, and caring. That explains why she earned a spot on ThreeBestRated’s list of Top 3 Physical Therapists in Yonkers. “Honestly, I felt honored and humbled to make that list,” she remembers. “I will always give this job my 100%, every day. I feel my clients deserve that much.”

On the significance of the physical therapy industry, Priyanka believes it has a lot to offer society. “I feel it is an important part of healthcare. I think physical therapists, in general, play a huge role in the daily lives of their patients. That is why I am eager to participate in more education programs to promote the profession and share the importance of the work that we do. I would also like to be a part of an outreach program to spread awareness about common conditions which can benefit from a successful physical therapy rehabilitation.”

Priyanka is certain that more and more people will embrace physical therapy as time goes on. “As awareness spreads about the importance of what we do more fully, people will prioritize it even more as part of their recovery from injuries. I see a dazzling future for the physical therapy industry,” she believes.
