Biden sees ‘blow-up’ for Moscow stock market when it reopens

President Joe Biden on Friday said Russia’s stock market is still closed, since, the moment it opens, “it will be disbanded,” and “blow up.” The Moscow Exchange remains closed Friday, having been shut since Feb. 25 — the day after Russian forces invaded Ukraine. Biden was speaking to House Democrats at a conference in Philadelphia, after announcing the U.S. and allies would move to revoke special trade status for Russia. Biden also announced a U.S. ban on the import of Russian vodka and other products.
