Balachandar Karthikeyan–Tech Expert Working with WhatsApp and Signal
28-year-old Balachandar Karthikeyan from India is a technologist working directly with one of the biggest communications applications on the market–WhatsApp. Balachandar is noted as one of the only people from India to have contributed to both of the most popular messaging platforms in the world, (WhatsApp and Signal). Utilizing his knowledge and expertise in the tech industry, this young developer has been shaking up the industry.
The standard practice within the world of well-recognized software engineers and tech developers is to obtain a degree in higher education. Most of the biggest names in this industry coming out of India come from an educational background with a bachelor’s degree from prestigious colleges such as IIT (Indian Institutes of Technology).
However Balachandar is one of the most successful tech founders who does not come from such a background, not boasting any prestigious degrees. In fact, he dropped out of college all-together, making his achievements all the more stunning. As a self-taught individual, he educated himself about computer programming and other technical skills by reading books and researching information online.
So how does a college dropout start working for one of the biggest applications on the market?
Back in 2015, Balachandar began working on his own messaging app and in the process discovered a security flaw in the WhatsApp platform. After reporting this to the WhatsApp team, the company’s co-founder hired the tech genius to work closely by his side.
After a few years working with the team at WhatsApp, the co-founder that hired Balachandar left the company to develop a new program called Signal Messenger. Balachandar joined this co-founder and close project partner to assist with this new startup.
Balachandar is recognized for his passion for technology and his dedication to the industry. He is also the chief executive officer and founder of Bringar Research & Development Pvt. Ltd. in India and Bringar Apps LLC, in Dubai.
“I created an app called WhatsAuto – Reply App, which reached 25 million business worldwide and was developed purely by my company and myself, without any funding from outside investors, Balachandar explains when discussing his success. His company is the leading chatbot app for social messaging apps in the world with over 25 million users. With organic growth, spread by word of mouth, the company is planning to reach 1 billion users in 5 years and become a global chatbot app leader.
