: Nikola stock drops, as EV maker suspects ‘foul play’ led to fire involving multiple trucks

Shares of Nikola Corp. NKLA tumbled 10.1% in morning trading Friday, after the electric vehicle maker confirmed that a fire occurred involving multiple battery electric trucks, and that it suspected “foul play.” The company said no one was injured in the fire. “Foul play is suspected as a vehicle was seen in the area of the affected trucks just prior to the incident and an investigation is underway,” the company tweeted. The company said it will release addition information as it becomes available. The stock has dropped 42.6% year to date, while the S&P 500 SPX has gained 13.3%.
