: Tesla takes top four spots on Cars.com’s American-Made Index for 2023

Tesla Inc. TSLA swept Cars.com’s American-Made Index for 2023, with the Model Y leading the list for the second straight year, followed by three of Elon Musk’s other electric vehicles. The Tesla Model 3 Sedan took second place, followed by the Model X SUV and the Model S sedan. Honda’s JP:7267 Passport SUV took fifth place, followed by Volkswagen’s XE:VOW3 ID.4 all-electric SUV. That was followed by four other Honda vehicles to complete the Top 10. The Cars.com America-Made list has been around for 18 years and ranks 100 vehicles on a list based on five criteria; assembly location, parts content, engine origin, transmission origin and U.S. manufacturing workforce. Cars.com vetted some 388 vehicles to arrive at its final list. Tesla stock has gained 123% in the year to date, while the S&P 500 SPX has gained 14%.
