: Sinead O’Connor dead at 56

Sinead O’Connor, the singer best known for her moving rendition of “Nothing Compares 2 U”, has died at the age of 56, according to reports. The Irish singer’s death follows the death of her son, Shane, last year. “Nothing Compares 2 U” was originally written by Prince, who also sang the song. Sinead’s version was released in 1990 and was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks.
