: Costco shares up 1% in after hours after 4.5% rise in July sales

Shares of Costco Wholesale Corp. COST were nearly 1% higher in the after-hours session Wednesday after the retailer said its July sales rose 4.5% to $17.60 billion, from $16.85 billion in July 2022. Same-store sales increased 2.5% in the month, including a 1.3% increase for U.S. same-store sales. E-commerce sales rose 4.1%. Costco shares ended the regular trading day down 0.6%.
