: Ex-Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein says he would not return in any capacity to the bank: report

Former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. GS CEO Lloyd Blankfein told CNBC-TV he would not return to the bank as other former CEOs have done at companies such as Starbucks Corp. SBUX and Walt Disney Co. DIS. Blankfein said he was misquoted in a New York Times article that reported he offered to current CEO David Solomon that he would be willing to return in some capacity. Blankfein said he did offer to help Solomon but not offer to return. Blankfein also said he supported Solomon. The New York Times did not comment, CNBC’s report said. “I can’t imagine returning to the firm,” Blankfein said in the CNBC report. “I think my days working 100-hour weeks are over.” Solomon took over from Blankfein in 2018 and has seen his company’s stock price lag its peers this year.
