: Voyager Space and Airbus in joint venture to build and operate Starlab commercial space station

Voyager Space and Airbus FR:AIR Defence and Space have announced a joint venture to build and operate Starla, a commercial space station that is planned to succeed the International Space Station. The US-led transatlantic joint venture was announced early Wednesday. In December 2021 Voyager Space was awarded a $160 million Space Act Agreement (SAA) by NASA, which sets the foundation to create Starlab. Earlier this year Voyager selected Airbus to provide technical design support and expertise for the commercial space station. “We are proud to charter the future of space stations with Airbus,” said Voyager Space President Matthew Kuta, in the statement Wednesday. “The International Space Station is widely regarded as the most successful platform for global cooperation in space history, and we are committed to building on this legacy as we move forward with Starlab.”
