: Macy’s names ex-Galeries Lafayette exec as CEO of Bloomingdale’s
Macy’s Inc. M said Tuesday it has named Olivier Bron as chief executive of its Bloomingdale’s department store chain, with an anticipated start date of early November. Bron was most recent CEO of Group’s Central and Robinson Department Stores in Thailand, where he was responsible for strategies for sustainable growth. Before that, he was chief operating officer and director of strategy for French luxury group Galeries Lafayette in Paris. Bron is replacing Tony Spring, who was appointed president and CEO-elect of Macy’s in March after a 36-year career at Bloomingdale’s. Macy’s stock has fallen 44% in the year to date, while the S&P 500 SPX has gained 17%.
