: UPS to hire 60K of the 100K seasonal workers it needs for holidays this weekend with starting wages for some of $23 an hour
United Parcel Service Inc. UPS said Wednesday it plans to hire 60,000 of the 100,000 seasonal workers it will need this holiday season this coming weekend. “This Friday and Saturday, the company’s annual UPS Brown Friday events will take place across the country,” the company said in a statement. UPS will host more than 600 in-person and virtual events starting Friday across the U.S. Roles include package handlers, driver helpers and seasonal support drivers. Package car driver positions will be paid a starting wage of $23 per hour Package handler and driver helper positions start at $21 an hour. The stock has fallen 19% in the year to date, while the S&P 500 SPX has gained 9%.
