: AMD’s stock heads for highest close in nearly 2 years, pacing S&P 500 volume leaders

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. shares AMD are continuing their charge higher Tuesday, rallying for the fourth session in a row and heading for their highest close in almost a year. The stock is up 2% in Tuesday afternoon action, recently trading at $137.07, and on pace to notch its highest close since Jan. 12, 2022, when it finished at $137.47, according to Dow Jones Market Data. AMD is the most active stock in the S&P 500 SPX, with about 92 million shares having changed hands with about 90 minutes left in the trading session. The stock’s 30-day average volume is just over 57 million shares.
