FAA halts production expansion of Boeing’s Max jets — but clears inspection process to resume Max 9 flights

The agency made the moves after a panel known as a door plug tore off a Boeing 737 Max 9 jet flown by Alaska Airlines while it was in the air over the West Coast this month.
