NEW YORK, NY — On September 11, 2026, during New York Fashion Week, a public school gym at 650 Academy Street in Washington Heights will become a runway with a purpose.
The Red Show Education Gala, presented by GOODE Fashion Institute, is not just a fashion show. It is a fundraising gala with one clear mission: to ensure that 100+ seniors at the High School for Excellence and Innovation (HSEI) will go to prom.
The show is co-structured and led by ZahQ Goode, Executive Director of GOODE Fashion Institute, and renowned celebrity stylist The Stylish Jamar Hart. Together, they have built a blueprint they are now challenging the fashion industry to replicate.
> “This isn’t about one school or one show,” said Goode. “Jamar and I came together to build a structure that any designer, stylist, and fashion executive can take back to their own neighborhood. If we can turn a school in Washington Heights into a NYFW experience to get kids to prom, imagine what the industry could do if we all did this in our own area. We can get a lot more kids to prom and help create everlasting memories for them.
WHAT WE DO, WHY WE DO IT, AND HOW WE’RE DOING IT THIS TIME
What: The Red Show Education Gala transforms an under-resourced school space into a high-fashion, NYFW-caliber gala. The proceeds directly fund prom tickets, attire, grooming, and transportation for HSEI seniors.
Why: For many students in Washington Heights, prom is not guaranteed. Cost is the barrier. GOODE Fashion Institute believes career pathways in fashion should create real-world access and dignity for students — starting with milestone moments like prom.
How (2026 Structure):
This year, Goode and Hart have created a replicable model for impact:
Community as Runway: Utilizing the school as the venue to keep funds focused on students.
Industry Call to Action: Inviting designers to donate looks, stylists to volunteer glam, and executives to sponsor a senior.
The GOODE Promise: A new legacy award system to recognize those who keep their promise to youth.
At the culmination of the show, the team will present The GOODE Promise Award and The 100 Roses Award.
The GOODE Promise Award will be the highest honor of the night. “Goode with an E — because Good is what you do, Goode is who you are,” Goode explains. “This award honors those who keep a promise to youth when it would be easier not to. We will be giving GOODE Promise Awards to designers, stylists, and executives who commit to doing the same in their own communities.”
The 100 Roses Award will be presented when the fundraising goal is met — symbolizing 100 roses for 100 seniors whose prom dreams are now secured.
WHY PEOPLE SHOULD SUPPORT
Supporting The Red Show Education Gala is not a donation to a fashion show. It is a direct investment in student equity, youth confidence, and a new model for what New York Fashion Week can be — fashion that serves the city it calls home.
100% of gala fundraising goes to the HSEI senior prom fund.
Sponsors, designers, and media are invited to attend, cover, and replicate the model.
