As Wall Street rout worsens, only 5 S&P 500 stocks are trading higher
U.S. stocks are taking a beating on Tuesday, with losses accelerating in the final hour of trading. And as the S&P 500 appears headed for it worst daily drop since mid-June only five stocks on the broad-market gauge are trading in positive territory with less than an hour before the close — while all 11 sectors were trading in the red. As of noon, Twitter Inc. was trading up just 0.9%. The other four stocks were all part of the materials sector, including Corteva Inc. , Albermarle Corp. , CF Industries Holdings Inc. , and Mosaic Company . By comparison, the S&P 500 is off 3.9% at 3,949, on track for its worst day since June 13.
