Dow industrials still on track to clinch best October ever as stocks reach final hour of trading

Meanwhile, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.8% and 1.1%, respectively, as investors shifted into a wait-and-see mode ahead of Wednesday’s anticipated rate decision by the Federal Reserve.
