: These stocks are the biggest 2022 losers in the year’s weakest sector

The stocks Match Group Inc. MTCH, Meta Platforms Inc. META and Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. WBD are the worst performing stocks within the worst performing S&P 500 sector in 2022. It’s not surprise then, that all three stocks are having their worst years in their histories, although Match has only been public since July 2020 after its separation from IAC Inc. Shares of Match have plunged 69.1% year to date, Meta has plummeted 64.7% and Warner Bros. has tumbled 60.3%. The three companies are components of the SPDR Communication Services Select Sector ETF XLC, which has dropped 39.0% in 2022 as the biggest decliner of the SPDR sector ETFs tracking the S&P 500’s 11 sectors. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 SPX has lost 20.2% this year.
