: Dow up in final hour of trading, heading for third straight session of gains

Read Time:38 Second

U.S. stocks remained mostly lower in the final hour of trading, except for the Dow Jones Industrial Average which headed for its third straight session of gains. The Dow was up almost 0.2%, while the S&P 500 was down by less than 0.1% and the Nasdaq Composite was off 0.1%. Among other things, investors are weighing the prospects of another rate hike by the Federal Reserve in May, geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and China over Taiwan, the next major inflation update in two days, and the release of banks’ first-quarter earnings later this week.
