: White House denies U.S., Iran near interim nuclear deal: report

The White House on Thursday denied a media report that it was near an interim deal that would see Iran curtail its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief, Reuters reported. “This report is false and misleading,” said a spokesperson for the National Security Council, according to Reuters. Oil futures dipped to a session low after Middle East Eye, a London-based news site, reported that an agreement was near. Oil then trimmed losses, with West Texas Intemediate crude for July delivery CL00CLN23 down 98 cents, or 1.3%, at $71.55 a barrel after dropping as low as $69.03.
