: Costco June sales edge higher, but same-store sales drop

Shares of Costco Wholesale Corp. COST dropped nearly 1% in the extended session Thursday after the retailer reported June sales of $22.86 billion, an increase of 0.4% from the $22.78 billion in June 2022. Comparable-store sales fell 1.4%, including a drop of 2.5% for U.S. same-store sales. E-commerce sales fell 0.7%, Costco said. Costco stock ended the regular trading day down 0.7%. The retailer last month reported a 1.2% rise in May sales.
