: Tesla’s Autopilot under investigation from California attorney general: report
Tesla Inc. TSLA is under an investigation by the California attorney general’s office regarding Autopilot’s safety issues and complaints about false advertising, CNBC reported Wednesday, citing a customer and a former Tesla employee as among those who have been contacted by the office. Autopilot, Tesla’s suite of advanced driver-assistance systems geared for highway driving, has been subject of numerous probes over the years and of criticism that its name implies more driverless-driving capabilities than the systems are capable of delivering. Shares of Tesla edged higher in the extended session Wednesday after ending the regular trading day down 0.3%.
