: McCarthy to endorse Biden impeachment inquiry: report

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy plans to tell House Republicans this week that launching an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden is the “logical next step” in the Republican Party’s probes of the president and his son Hunter, Punchbowl News reported Tuesday. McCarthy plans to say that two House chairmen have uncovered enough information to formalize an impeachment inquiry, in order to obtain the Bidens’ bank records and other documents. Punchbowl notes that investigations haven’t uncovered direct evidence that Biden profited off of his son’s work. In July, McCarthy said that GOP probes of the Bidens were “rising to the level of impeachment inquiry.”
