U.S. stocks opened higher on Friday, as Wall Street banks kicked off earnings results for the third quarter. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA was up 0.5% soon after the opening bell, while the S&P 500 SPX gained 0.5% and the Nasdaq Composite COMP rose 0.3%, according to FactSet data, at last check. Citigroup Inc. C on Friday reported third-quarter profit that topped expectations, while JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s JPMresults and Wells Fargo & Co.’s WFCearnings also beat analysts’ estimates. All three major stock benchmarks were on track for weekly gains.
