Kroger expanding delivery service in Nashville and Chicago metro areas
Kroger Co. announced Thursday that it will expand delivery service in the greater Nashville and Chicago metro areas thanks to new facilities that will function alongside existing fulfillment centers. These new additions are part of Kroger’s partnership with Ocado Group , which have been building hi-tech facilities to enable swift delivery. A 40,000-square-foot Nashville facility will serve customers up to 200 miles away. And a nearly 80,000-square-foot facility in Maywood, Ill., about 20 miles from Chicago, will deliver to that area. Kroger has fulfillment centers in Atlanta, Pleasant Prairie, Wis., across California and the Northeast, among other U.S. locations. Kroger stock is up about 6% for the year to date.
