Sen. Joe Manchin says he’s tested positive for COVID

Joe Manchin, a West Virginia Democrat who is key to getting legislation through the Senate, said on Monday that he has tested positive for COVID-19. “I am fully vaccinated and boosted and am experiencing mild symptoms,” he said in a tweet. “I will isolate and follow CDC guidelines as I continue to work remotely to serve West Virginians.” His diagnosis comes as the Senate is attempting to wrap up work before it leaves for recess at the end of next week, including a vote on a bill to aid the semiconductor industry.
