Read Time:46 Second

Spirit Airlines Inc SAVE on Friday had canceled dozens of flights due to what it said was a “necessary inspection of a small section” of some of its jets. According to flight-tracking service FlightAware, Spirit had canceled 98 flights, with 65 delays. “We’ve cancelled a portion of our scheduled flights to perform a necessary inspection of a small section of 25 of our aircraft,” the airline said in a statement. “While this action is being taken out of an abundance of caution, the impact to our network is expected to last several days as we complete the inspections and work to return to normal operations.” Shares were up 1%. The move by Spirit follows a year of disruptions for air travelers, due to weather, understaffing and technical malfunctions.
