The Story Behind Monique Rose’s Multi-Million Dollar Brand Evolution

Read Time:4 Minute, 24 Second

When we think of entrepreneurs, we think of rule-breakers – ambitious and forward-thinking individuals who serve as the movers and shakers of the business world. A successful entrepreneur is someone who can evolve with changing technology, someone who is resilient, visionary, and relentless.

We often wonder, though – how do they get started? And what keeps them going?

Monique Rose is a shining example of how you can accomplish anything if you’re willing to work for it. Her career is a roadmap of practical wisdom for aspiring business magnates, especially within the Food and Beverage (F&B) and hospitality sectors. Monique’s legacy with the Milk & Honey brand is a tapestry embroidered with determination, innovative leadership, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

She now has multiple businesses and everything she touches seems to turn to gold. But she shares that it wasn’t always like this.

“I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I started working at 13,” Monique says. Clearly her indomitable spirit was evident from a young age – but she also had to learn to overcome challenges. She graduated from high school at just 17, as a single mother. Still nearly a child herself – at least in age – Monique was determined to create the best possible life for her baby.

Her early knack for overcoming challenges led her opening her first business at just 22 years old, embarking on a rich entrepreneurial journey. At that same time, she started using her hard-earned success to give back to her community as she founded a non-profit, the House of Hope Girls Group Home of Milwaukee.

However, it was in 2011, when Monique plunged into the restaurant consulting and management sector in Atlanta, Georgia, that her enduring legacy in the F&B industry began to take shape. Co-founding Milk & Honey in 2016 also was a cornerstone achievement. Under her astute leadership, the brand flourished and amassed over $30 million in revenue by 2020. This success was no mere coincidence but the result of a meticulously crafted blend of unique culinary experiences, unmatched customer service, and a keen understanding of market dynamics.

Monique made the decision to sell the entire brand in December 2020, and she achieved this successful exit amidst a global pandemic. Her foresight and business acumen meant that while the world grappled with uncertainty, she navigated through uncharted waters, culminating in the sale of the final location in June of 2023. Monique’s prowess in making strategic decisions in tumultuous times has led to her talent for seizing the right opportunities.

The post-Milk & Honey era saw Monique broadening her entrepreneurial horizons further. Her array of ventures now include a novel online community, The Winners Circle, a digital network of motivated individuals aspiring to triumph in various life facets. The Collab ATL and Milk & Cookies are other testament to her undying entrepreneurial spirit. Furthermore, her ventures into the health & wellness sector through Mode Total Wellness, and the beauty industry with Mink & Honey Beauty, reflect her adeptness at diversifying her business portfolio.

Monique Rose is not just a successful entrepreneur; she is a mentor, a motivator, and a living testament to what hard work paired with a clear vision can accomplish. Her current engagement with various businesses across different sectors is an illustration of her versatile entrepreneurial aptitude.

As a motivational speaker and social media influencer, Monique continues to share her journey, insights, and the ethos of hard work with an ever-growing audience. She excels at transcending challenges, nurturing growth, and most importantly, about helping others rise through adversity.

“I believe the most beautiful thing about success is that it is by definition even, the accomplishment of an aim or purpose,” Monique says. “Which means that it is defined by the individual, and not the masses. What an amazing thing that you can choose your own success literally. Entrepreneurship is defined by the person that is willing to assume the most risk for their own idea, product or service. You must be willing to initiate, and then follow through to execution and beyond. The execution is what separates an entrepreneur from everybody else that just has an idea. Outwork EVERYBODY!!!”

Monique’s expansive business portfolio and her passion for sharing knowledge make her a unique figure in today’s entrepreneurial landscape. Through Monique Rose Management, she channels over two decades of diverse experience into business and restaurant consulting, helping other business owners navigate the intricacies of the industry.

The story of Monique Rose is inspiring, and her multi-million-dollar brand evolution is a case study in resilience, innovation, and the quintessence of entrepreneurial spirit. It’s a narrative that resonates with individuals across the spectrum, inspiring them to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams with vigor, foresight, and an unwavering belief in their visions.

Monique’s journey exemplifies that with resilience, a clear vision, and an unyielding resolve, the entrepreneurial spirit will continue to thrive, even in the face of adversity. And her story illuminates the path for many aspiring entrepreneurs, especially in the F&B and hospitality sectors, demonstrating that with the right blend of passion, innovation, and hard work, success is not just a dream, but a reachable reality.
