: Discover Financial names new CEO

Read Time:40 Second

Discover Financial Services’ DFS board has appointed Michael G. Rhodes as the company’s new chief executive and board member, effective March 6, the company said in a filing late Monday. Interim CEO John Owen will continue to serve as a director of the company as well as the bank, Discover said. Rhodes has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, and most recently serves as TD Bank Group’s TD head of Canadian personal banking. Former Chief Executive Roger C. Hochschild resigned in August, not long after Discover disclosed that it had misclassified certain credit-card accounts into its highest merchant pricing tiers for years.
